"With his dissertation Interactive Cognitive-Motor Training in Older Adults - The Extra Boost for Cognitive Performance and Brain Function? under the direction of Prof. Dr. Eling de Bruin (D-HEST ETH Zurich and Karolinska Institute Stockholm), Eggenberger provided relevant scientific data in the field of gerontology for combined multi-component training programs for elderly people (motor-physical activity as well as simultaneous cognitive training) to reduce the frequency of falls by 77% and to help older people to get used to the new technology. The extensive dissertation presented by Eggenberger, which is also published in four publications, provides relevant findings for the better design of the everyday life of older adults in a complex environment (city) as well as for the development of fitness programmes for this target group."
